Edell E. Harrison, age 87, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, February 30, 2106. She was born March 31, 1928 in Beech Grove to Emett and Amy (Hamilton) Gosman. She was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School with the Class of 1946. She retired as an Executive Secretary for the Indiana Dept. of Human Services. Edell attended Southside United Methodist Church and she was a member the Continental Dance Club and the Southside Art League. She loved to do watercolor paintings, sew and ballroom dance.
Edell married David E Harrison in May, 2005 and he survives her along with her sons, Michael Murray of Ellenton, FL, Patrick Murray of Washington, IN and Kevin Murray of Mooresville; sister, Maxine Wolford, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Phillip (Amy) Murray, Rachel (Brian) Crowhorn, Rita Murray, Chris (Ashley Wentworth) Murray and Jeremy Welzcher; great grandchildren, Reagan, Adaya, Charlotte, McKenzie and Noah; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul, Francis, and Woody Gosman; sisters, Mildred Barton and Delores Patton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to IU Riley Hospital for Children or to the Wheeler Mission.
