Edgar "Eddie" Lee Dyer, Jr., 50, of Indianapolis passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020.  He was born July 31, 1969 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Edgar Dyer and Joyce (Bilger) McClain.

Eddie graduated from Southport High School in 1987 and joined the Army.  He was stationed in Germany and served our country for 2 years.  When Eddie got back to the states he spent a little time at Purdue University and went on to earn an Associate's degree from the University of Phoenix.  After college, Eddie started his construction business, Dyer Construction.  In 2002 Eddie became the proud father of Matthew Elmore.  Eddie was very smart and never stopped wanting to learn new things; he was book smart but loved the arts too, just beginning to learn how to play guitar.  Above all, Eddie loved his family and spending time with them.  He will be greatly missed.

Eddie is survived by his son, Matthew; father, Edgar Dyer, Sr.; mother, Joyce (Jimmie Donald) McClain; girlfriend and mother of Matthew, Teresa Elmore; brother, Steven Dyer; sister, Regina Edwards; and his special nieces and nephew, Alexis, Valerie, Misti and Jimmie.

Eddie was preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Louise McClain; and brother-in-law, David Edwards.

There will be a memorial gathering to remember Eddie at a date to be determined.
