Edgel "Ed" Williams, Indianapolis, passed away on April 2, 2023. He was 88 years old. Ed was born in Webster Springs, WV, to his parents John and Geraldine Williams. Ed met his wife, Sue Angel, in Detroit, MI and they shared 55 years together navigating life. Ed was an entrepreneur. He started his own company, On Target Remodeling, and worked as a general contractor for over 30 years. Ed was a person of faith and made a point to read his bible whenever he had the chance. Ed enjoyed western films and a hearty breakfast. Oftentimes, Ed would wake up early to make breakfast for his children before they left for school. His favorite breakfast was sausage gravy and biscuits and fried potatoes. Ed loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ed will be remembered as an opinionated man with a wonderful sense of humor and a deep appreciation for those close to him. He will be dearly missed.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Robert Anthony (Andrea), Ketsia Lynn (James), Suzette, Joe (Rachel), Sherry and Calvert Ray; his several grandchildren; his several great grandchildren; his several great great grandchildren; his siblings, Madison, Jackie, and Trudy Jean; his several nieces and nephews.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; his children, Mary Jean and Michael Curtis; his grandchildren, Tyler and Katie; his siblings, Betty, Sonny, John, Edward, Doris, and Judy.
A visitation for Ed will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Ben Franklin Mausoleum in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will be on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 12:00 pm.
