Edith Maxine Thompson, age 74, of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 with her family at her side. She was born January 29, 1940 in Indianapolis to Bernard and Clara (Andrews) Wilson. Edith was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School with the Class of 1958. She was a bookkeeper for Diamond Chain for 20 years, retiring in 2005. Edith was an avid bowler who also loved to play cards and shop with her family. She was also an active member of the Red Hat Society.
She married Louis R. Thompson on August 25, 1962 and he survives her along with her daughters, Deb (Gary) Boggs and Kelley (J.R.) Newman; brother-in-law, Frank Mondelli; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bernard Wilson, Jr.; sisters, Jonell Mondelli, Bernice Jennings and Darlene Allanson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
