Obituary

Mrs. Edna Eldridge, Bargersville, passed away on the early morning of Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Otterbein-Franklin.  She was 92. She was born October 8, 1928 in Bloomfield, Indiana, one of 15 children born to Steve and Margaret Marie, (Blaker) Hash.

Edna was employed at Kroger, where she worked in the deli and bakery departments and retired after 20 years of service. After retiring, she worked an additional seven years at the Johnson County Sheriff's Department in the dietary area. In her leisure time, and enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, gardening, canning, collecting dolls, baking and decorating cakes. She had baked and decorated cakes for three of her grandchildren's weddings. She was also a member of the Union Village Chapter No. 585 Order of the Eastern Star, where she held numerous positions in both the local chapter and in the state organization. Edna was a 50-year member of Providence Christian Church and was the oldest living member at the time of her passing.

Edna is survived by her sons, Kenneth D. (Judith) Eldridge, Dennis Earl (Shirley) Eldridge, S. Wayne (Judy) Eldridge and William Alan (Diana) Eldridge; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Murphy and Naomi Dart as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Stanley Earl Eldridge; seven brothers; five sisters and a great-great-granddaughter, Ainsley Mitchell.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, Indiana. Dr. Steve Sorenson will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Otterbein-Franklin and Main Street Hospice for being Edna's family when her family could not visit because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to Providence Christian Church.
