Edward Francis Dunne Jr, Greenwood, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was 89 years old. Edward was born in Chicago, IL to his parents Edward Francis Dunne Sr. and Helen Kathleen Burnette Dunne. Ed was in the Sigma Chi fraternity until he graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Ed married his wife, Adalouise Cater Dunne, on June 23, 1956 and together they shared 67 years of marriage. Ed was in the United States Navy and after his period of faithful service was honorably discharged.
Ed worked as a salesman for the steel industry and retired after 31 years of service. Ed was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church with his wife for many years. Ed enjoyed going snow skiing while living in Durango, CO and building model airplanes. In his younger years, Ed coached and refereed youth hockey. He was a fan of the Chicago Black Hawks and the Colorado Avalanche. Ed was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.
Ed is survived by his wife Adalouise Cater Dunne; his daughter-in-law, Deitra Winters Dunne; his grandchildren, Addison Dunne and Madeline (Sean) Dunne Gipson; his nephew and niece, Jeffrey Warner and Candace Warner.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Christopher Cater Dunne; his sister, Jacquelyn Dunne Warner.
