Edward L. Lay, Jr., age 56 of Mooresville, died on August 6, 2009 at his residence. Born March 4, 1953 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Edward L. Lay, Sr. and Dorothy Jean (Owens) Lay. On February 7, 2004 in Kentucky, he married Loretta Goad who survives. He worked at Rolls Royce for 2 years prior to working for and retiring from Allisons GM in May 2004 after 28 years of service. Edward was a veteran of the US Marines serving in Vietnam. He was a member of HTDA (Hoosier Tree Dog Alliance), American Quarter Horse Association and was a fisherman and loved horses. Survivors include his wife Loretta, mother Dorothy, son Edward Lee Lay III, daughters Angela Michelle(Mike) , Lolita R. (Tom) Wilson; step-daughter Shelley (Jeff) Burge; Brothers Raymond Howard (Audrey) Lay, and William Thomas Lay; Sisters Dianna Sue (Dave) Cox-Lay, Lora Lee Bennett and Linda Sue Fraser. Edward also had several grandchildren surviving. Edward was preceded in death by his father and a son Chance Lee Lay. Visitation will be Monday, August 10th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood, IN 46143. Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday at the funeral home.
