Edward F. Miller, Jr; age 87, passed away Friday February 17th, 2012 at Brown County Health and Living in Nashville, IN.
Ed was born November 9th, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Edward F. and Marie (Demmons) Miller. Edward graduated from Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, class of 1942. After serving his country proudly as a WWII Navy Veteran, he worked in sales for Miller Brewing Co.
Ed then owned a bar in Cincinnati, and found his calling as a bartender after relocating to Indiana. Ed retired from the Elks Club in Franklin after a fun filled and lengthy career. Ed loved people, life, making people laugh, and will be remembered for his sense of humor and his great words of wisdom.
Ed enjoyed his friends, family, traveling, dogs, and golf. Ed also gave his time generously to several charities over the years. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #1818 in Franklin, the V.F.W. Post #2552, the Murat Shrine, and F&AM Lodge #313 in Franklin.
He married Ellen Jane (Michael, Kimbler) on September 30th 1974; she survives in New Whiteland, IN. Survivors also include son Timothy Miller of Greenwood, IN; daughters Pennie (Larry) Crutchfield of Warner Robbins, GA; Annette Kimbler of New Whiteland, IN; five grandchildren, eleven great-grand children, three nieces, six great nieces and nephews, and cousins Crickie Schemmanauer and Doris Redding of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Edward Kimbler, James Kimbler; niece RaeJean (Klopp) Wilhite, daughter in law Shawn (Tiffany) Miller, and one sister, Mary Lou (Miller) Klopp.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 25th at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday February 24th from 4:00 until 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Johnson Co.
