Edward C. "Snuff" Smith, age 82, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17 in Indianapolis. He was born in Newark, NJ on May 6, 1927 to Jesse and Jenny Smith, who later preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister Muriel Cater. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of Gettysburg College with a BA degree in business. He worked for Equitable Life for many years and retired from there. Later he returned to work at the College of Business at Butler University. Snuff never met a stranger and stayed in contact with many of his former students. He loved to dance and listen to music from the 30''s to the 50''s as well as cheer for Butler sports and do his caricature drawings. Snuff was a member of Logansport JayCees, the Lion''s Club of Pike Township and a Boy Scout leader and supporter for many years. He is survived by his wife Christina "Tina", whom he married August 9, 1957, along with his son William R. Smith, of Mishawaka, daughter Jennifer S. Wesler, of Franklin, sisters, Dot Hendrickson of NJ,and Jessie Parks, and her husband Don, of Randolph, NJ; grandchildren, Tiffany, of Franklin, Rachel,of Cordele, GA, Kayla, and Hannah Wesler of Franklin, and great grandchildren Spencer, Nathan and Lizzy. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with visitation Sunday from Noon to 4:00PM. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
