Obituary

Edward J. Tryon, 99, of Indianapolis passed away November 12, 2018. He was born in Hiawatha, KS to Edgar William and Sirilda (Ford) Tryon.

Edward grew up in Brown County, IN and lived in a log cabin in Morgantown, IN. He was the plant superintendent for Standard Change Makers and had the patent for change machines. Ed was in the Civilian Conservation Core organization and helped plant trees in Northern Kentucky and Brown County State Park. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in WWII and experienced a P.T. being shot underneath him. Ed was an Elder at Samaria and an active member and Elder of Greenwood Christian Church. He saw the love of his life, Madeline sitting in church at the age of 14, and they were married in 1940. Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always there for his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Harry Edward Tryon and 9 brothers and sisters.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 78 years, Madeline Tryon; son, Robert (Robin) Tryon; daughter, Janice Fowler; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
