EDWARD ROYCE WILLIAMS Ed, age 75, slipped gently and peacefully into his eternal sleep on Monday, Jan. 10th, 2011, with family at his side. He was the only son of Omer and Marguerite Williams, both deceased. Ed was born and lived his entire life in Indianapolis, graduated from Manual High School (1953) and from Purdue University (1957) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a proud member of the Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity. After graduating he was employed by and retired from Naval Avionics Facility after 35 years of service. During his younger years, he was very involved in the Indian Guides, Trailblazers, and Indian Princess programs at the YMCA. He was also active in Southport Little League, as a coach, manager and tournament director for many years. Ed loved to fish, play poker with his cronies, and was an avid sports fan. As a Purdue graduate, he loved the Boilers, having been a football and basketball season ticket holder for many years. Like the rest of the family, he bled Blue for the Colts and Pacers. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara (Hoovler), son Kenneth (Chris) Williams, daughter Lynn (Rick) Ryan, and grandchildren, Kurtis and Kelsie Williams. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in Forest Lawn Funeral Home with a service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
