Obituary

Eleanor Sue (McKinney) LaMastus, 90 of Indianapolis, passed away May 25, 2025. She was born in Johnson Co. on March 8, 1935 to the late John D. and Eunice (White) McKinney. Sue grew up in Stones Crossing, graduated from Center Grove in 1953, and attended Franklin College 1953-55.

Sue and her husband Ed LaMastus lived in Smith Valley for many years. Sue worked in the commercial loan department at Indiana National Bank in Indianapolis for 18 years, 1955-74, and as a receptionist for optometrist Edward Friel in Bargersville 1980-86.

Sue is survived by nephews David Welch of Denver and Mark (Sue) Welch of Wellington, Florida, niece Diana Welch (Dr. Derek) Linderman of Boise, Idaho, grandnephews Jonathan (Samantha) Welch of Orlando and Kellen and Gabriel Linderman of Boise, and grandniece Melissa (James) Edwards and great-grandnieces James Marie and Wells Lily Edwards of Greenville, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Lee LaMastus, grandson James A. Franklin, parents and big sister Barbara Ann (McKinney) Welch.

A memorial will be held at a later time.

Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
