Elijah E. Dalrymple, age 84 of Indianapolis, passed away at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis, on Friday, April 3, 2009. He was born November 16, 1924 in Warren, Indiana to Edward and Goldie (Perry) Dalrymple. On October 24, 1944, he married Ruth J. Couch. She passed away in 1999. On April 27, 2002, he married Marjorie M. Arnold-Kolb. Elijah was a member of the First Christian Church in Mooresville. He was also a veteran of the US Army serving in both World War II and Korean War and received a bronze star. He was also a member of the Bass Fishing Club at Sweetwater Lake in Brown County, Indiana. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, two sons: Gary A. (Sharon) Dalrymple and James A. (Diana) Spoolstra; two daughters: Nancy K. (Jim) Forbes and Judith Quance. Elijah also had 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, four brothers, Herbert, Verland, Harry and Russell and two sisters, Lucille Harris and Edna Yoakum. Services will be Tuesday, April 7th at 2:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation will be from Noon until service time at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the services with military rites accorded. Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church of Mooresville or to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
