Elizabeth Ann Johnson, age 62, of Southport, passed away March 20, 2017 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center, Greenwood. The daughter of Raymond H. and Katherine P. Wray McGathey, Elizabeth was born November 20, 1954 in Beech Grove, Indiana.

For several years, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later worked in housekeeping at Holiday Inn. Elizabeth loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She took great pride in assisting others. She took pleasure in gardening - growing many varieties of flowers.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Michael Byrd of Southport; brothers, W. Bruce McGathey and Eric B. McGathey, both of Indianapolis; sister, Pamela (Mark) McClanahan of Fairland and Millie (Steve) Davis of Plainfield; grandchildren, Scott Byrd of Indianapolis and Angela (Mark) Patterson of Greenwood; great-grandsons, Hunter Byrd and Mason Byrd.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at a later date. Private burial took place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Forest Lawn Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
