Obituary

Elizabeth Anne Roe, 94, of Franklin, passed away January 3, 2016 at the Franklin United Methodist Community. The daughter of Edward and Estle Chloe Battin Speas, Anne was born November 26, 1921 in Whiteland, Indiana.

Anne was a graduate of Whiteland High School and after completing business school, worked as a secretary for the former Merchants National Bank in Indianapolis and later at Greenwood Center (now Greenwood Park Mall). She retired as a bookkeeper from Wall Enterprises. Anne was a member of Whiteland United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bird watching, working in her yard, traveling and attending concerts and the opera.

Anne is survived by her son, Kyle (Kathy) Roe of Indianapolis; her daughter, Lisa (Greg) Wall of Nineveh; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice E. Roe and brother, James Speas.

Rev. Cleon Wright will officiate at services 1:00 p.m. January 7, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society - 5635 West 96th Street, Suite 100 Indianapolis, Indiana 46278.
