Ellen R. Perkins, 85, of Mooresville passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Born July 31, 1936, she was the first born child to the late Robert and Freda Walls of Brooklyn, IN. She married Curtis Perkins on June 4, 1955. Curt preceded her in death on June 19, 2005.


Ellen was a proud and dedicated member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1111. She served in multiple roles, such as, President for six terms, Historian, Media Chair and Treasurer. Ellen had a servant's heart and volunteered her time and talents to support children and seniors in her community. She was a member of the Eternal Life Baptist Church. Ellen loved traveling to visit family in Georgia, attending and holding rummage sales, working in her yard, tending to the wild birds, and caring for her cherished cats.

Beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many, Ellen is survived by six siblings; Edward (Kim) Walls, Marilyn Waldrip, James (Rosia) Walls, Roviena (John) Wagner, Russell Walls, and Dorothy Hornaday, as well as countless nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and two siblings; Delores Gilman and Cecil Walls.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Ellen will be laid to rest next to her husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memory Gardens is located at 1977 S State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
