Ellis Kenneth Black 75, of Indianapolis died April 29, 2012 at his residence.
He was born January 6, 1937 to the late Marcus B., and Ethel Martin Black.
He was a 1955 graduate of McKinney High School in Kentucky. He was an avid NASCAR fan and A.R.C.A. racecar driver. He was a stand out basketball player for McKinney High School. He loved sports.
He worked as a machine repairman for General Motors in Indianapolis for 50 years retiring in 1989.
He married Judith K. Gilpin October 20, 1972. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Steve Black (wife Retta), Jimmy Black (wife Mona). Three step-sons, Tom Miller, Dean Miller (wife Cindy) and Ralph Miller (wife) Kim. A step - daughter Karen Conn (husband Bobby), two sisters, Rhoda Marlow and Cris Feedbigger, 22 Grandchildren and 21 Great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by, his parents, a step-daughter, one sister and two Brothers.
Funeral services will be Thursday May 3, 2012 at 1:00PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 - 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to The Alzheimer''s Assn.
