Elmer "Arlis" Renner, of McCordsville and previously Camby, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of October 13, 2022. He was 83 years old. Arlis was born in Hazel Patch, Kentucky to his parents Oppie and Rosie Renner. Arlis answered the call of this nation by serving in the United States Army and after his period of faithful service, was honorably discharged.
Arlis enjoyed playing guitar and watching nature. He loved to see the deer and squirrels. Arlis was a very loving caregiver to his mother and brother and was always willing to help his family. While Arlis would not describe himself as a green thumb, he enjoyed maintaining a large garden for his mother. The memories created will be cherished by those he leaves behind.
Arlis is survived by his nieces and nephews, Janet "Janice" Payne, Carol Sue (Mark) Lowman, Vickie (Tony) Easley, Joseph "Joe" (Angie) Renner, and Mark Renner; his several great nieces and nephews; his several great great nieces and nephews.
Arlis is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James (Daisy) Renner, and Wilbert Renner; and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 2pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens following the services.
The family will receive friends from 11am-2pm on Thursday October 20, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Arlis' honor to The Alzheimer's Association.
