Obituary

Elvia Louise Vierling, age 85, of Indianapolis, went to home to Heaven on October 2, 2015. She was born May 17, 1930 in Pine Mountain, KY to Leonard and Alice (Elkins) Harris. Elvia was an in-home Healthcare Provider for many years and she loved to shop and spend time with her family and her church. She married Lynn Vierling on January 4, 1964 and together they help found the East Side Tree of Life Church. Lynn preceded her in death on August 5, 2012. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knows and loves her.

Elvia is survived by her sons, Harold Glen (Carolyn) Shelton of Indianapolis and James Woodrow "Woody" (Thelma) Shelton of Blairsville, GA; daughters, Marjorie Hennig of Seymour, IN, Dorothy (James) Camp, of Spencer, IN, Tressie Turner and Violet L. Turner of Harlan, KY; sisters Dorothy (Jack) Morefield of Kansas City, MO, and Grace (Astor) Smith, of Cumberland, KY,; sister in Christ and best friend, Sandra Skillern of Martinsville; 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Elsie May Curry and Violet R. Lamb; sister, Roxanne Hall; granddaughter, Wilma Louise Morris.

Funeral services will be held at East Side Tree of Life Church, 607 E. Iowa St, Indianapolis, 46203 at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October, 6, 2015 with Rev. Brad Flaskamp officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
