IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Emily Yvonne
Taylor
November 18, 1936 – December 17, 2025
Mrs. Emily Yvonne Taylor, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on the late evening of Wednesday, December 17, 2025. She was 89 years old.
Emily was born on November 18, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Harry Lawrence Pritchett and Dorothy Lorene (Dodd) Russell. She attended Emmerich Manual High School and was a proud member of the graduating class of 1954.
Emily devoted much of her adult life to her career as an office manager, working with dedication and integrity for both the USSFA and the IAAU. Her strong work ethic and commitment were evident throughout her career, from which she retired in 2023 at the remarkable age of 87.
A woman of faith, Emily attended Meridian Church of God for many years and later worshiped at the Independent Nazarene Church of Beech Grove. Her faith guided her life and was reflected in her kindness, generosity, and devotion to others.
Above all else, Emily cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially delighting in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, joyfully spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Yvonna (Bill) Steadman and Melissa (Randy) Webb; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Schoonover, Malinda (Adrian) Fahey and Alicia (Chris) Driscoll; and her great-grandchildren, Henry Driscoll, John Todd Ferguson, Gwendolyn Driscoll, Noah Fahey, Alexis Ferguson and Samantha Schoonover. She is also survived by her brother, Carl (Nancy) Pritchett; her sister, Denise Burris as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by her sisters, Charlotte Stephens and Rita Stackhouse, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Burris.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 29, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at the funeral home.
For those who wish to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests donations be offered to the American Cancer Society.
