Emma R. Hobson, 94, of Indianapolis passed away January 23, 2018. She was born December 2, 1923 in Meshack, KY to John and Sally (Turner) Roddy.

Emma worked for Western Electric for around 30 years, enjoyed bowling with them, and was active in providing senior trips for the workers. She was a member and past state president of the VFW Auxillary, post #2999. Emma enjoyed taking trips with her 2 surviving sisters.

Emma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clem R. Hobson; 3 brothers; 3 sisters and one grandchild, Lisa Dunham.

She is survived by her son, Prentis Coop; daughter, Sue Dunham; brother, Kenneth Lee Roddy; sisters, Barbara Mitchell and Melissa Richardson; grandchildren, Tammy Brooks and April Hartig; great grandchildren, Ryan Schlensker, Ashley Dunham, Samantha Brooks, and Shelby Brooks and great great grandchild, Jana Monroe Dunham.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 12:00 pm with an hour of visitation prior, also in the funeral home.
