Mr. Emmett M. "Butch" Cash, Jr., Indianapolis, passed away on the early morning of Friday, October 8, 2021. He was 76. Butch was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, a son of the late Emmett M. and Ava N. (Addison) Cash, Sr.

Butch was reared in West Salem, Illinois and was a graduate of Edwards County High School in Albion, Illinois and after his marriage, moved his young family to Evansville, Indiana and then on to Indianapolis. Butch was a hard worker and had been employed as a carpenter with Dick Miller Construction Company and then with EKJ Concrete in Greenwood for many years. He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the United States Army.

Butch loved to fish and spent some of his spare time woodworking in his garage. He also loved spending time with his dog, Rascal. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Tawnya Padgett, Kelly (Eric) Johnson and Rich Cash; his grandchildren, Toni (Brian) Whitaker and Carey (Madi Tragesser) Cockerel; his great-grandson, Colton Whitaker, his siblings, Rita (Jim) Lake, Sue Daugherty and Jimmy Cash. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Butch is preceded in passing by his wife, Dixie Lee (Miller) Cash.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial following in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
