Esther A. Land, 89, passed away November 28, 2012 at her Indianapolis residence. The daughter of Henry and Maude Dillard Archer, she was born August 18, 1923 in French Lick, Indiana.

She retired from retail sales, having worked for Morrison Clothing Co., Wm. H. Block Co. and Harry Levisons Men''s Store. Esther was a member of Olive Branch Christian Church for over 60 years. She showed her crafts at area shows; was an avid bowler at Sport Bowl in several leagues; served as president of the PTA at School 35 and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts.

Services 11:00 a.m. December 3, 2012 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. December 2, 2012. Burial will follow funeral services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

Esther is survived by sons, Stephen E., James M. (Mary) and Ronald D. Land; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Robert Land and brothers, William and Darrell Archer.
