Evelyn Ann (Evie) Powers, age 93, went to live with her Lord on May 23, 2020.  She lived on the west side of Indianapolis most of her life, but was a resident of Greenwood, IN since 2015.  After retiring, she spent her winters in Ellenton, FL.

She was married to Charles William (Bill) Powers in 1947 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before his death on December 5, 1997.

Evie was born on November 3, 1926 to Gerald and Bernice Horner in Indianapolis.  She graduated from Decatur Central High School.  She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Valley Mills Christian Church in Indianapolis, Greenwood Christian Church in Greenwood and New Hope Baptist Church in Florida.  She was a 50+ year member of the West Newton/Mooresville Eastern Star and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Her survivors are daughter, Barbara Moomaw (spouse Martin); son Gregory L. Powers; grandsons, Gregory L. Powers II (spouse Debbie), Joshua M. Powers; great-grandchildren, Sierra Powers McSoley (spouse Dylan), Austin Powers, Kayleigh Powers; great-great grandchildren, Brently McSoley and Peyton McSoley.  Her son, Jeffrey W. Powers and grandson, Timothy A. Powers preceded her in death.

Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel 1977 S. State Rd 135 Greenwood, IN 46143 on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. with the funeral and graveside services immediately following visitation.
