Obituary

With family at her side, Evelyn Faye (Beasley) Wilson, 85, died on August 8, 2025, in Indianapolis, IN. Born on November 1, 1939, in Portland, TN, her parents were Elmer and Mildred Beasley. Evelyn moved to Indiana and was a 1958 graduate of Center Grove High School. She married Charles "Charlie" E. Wilson on December 18, 1959. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2014.

As a loyal longtime employee of Western Electric, Evelyn remained with the company when it was acquired January 1, 1984, by AT&T. That decision required her to move away from her family for the first time ever. She and Charlie relocated first to Kansas City, MO then to Orlando, FL. Evelyn achieved a PA certificate and eventually retired from AT&T.

Always kind and thoughtful, Evelyn never met a stranger. She was always friendly and quick to laugh. Her decision to move out of state with AT&T turned out to be a positive adventure. She happily adapted to life in the Sunshine State, loved to sing, loved country music and treasured time with her grandchildren. She was also a longtime member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two brothers, Elmer Glen Beasley and Ronnie Beasley, both of Greenwood; one daughter, Judy Fryman (Mark) of Indianapolis and one son, Doug Wilson of Greenwood; granddaughters, Melinda Schadler (Justin), Jennifer Kocher (Andrew), Jessica Wilson and Nichole Hood (Matthew); grandsons, Mark Fryman Jr. (Heather), Matthew Fleck (Christina), Kevin Fleck and Michael Wilson; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Nora Ruth Mason, one brother, Billy Wayne Beasley and one niece, Malissa Mason.

A visitation for Evelyn will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 2:30 pm.
