Evelyn Frances (Gooch) Rainey, 94 of Indianapolis passed away April 30, 2021.  She was born October 3, 1926 in Casey County, Kentucky to the late Johnnie and Julia (Gourley) Gooch.

Evelyn was a long time employee of Lazarus and stayed on when they became Macy's in Greenwood and won many service related awards for her kindness and helpfulness.  She enjoyed going to church at Southport Christian.  Evelyn was a classy lady, always dressed well with manicured nails.  She liked to play euchre and was a fierce competitor.  Evelyn was loved by all at Manor Care for her easy smile and friendliness towards everyone.  She most loved visits from her son, granddaughter, and nieces and nephews.  She will be missed.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Larry Rainey; granddaughter, Alicia "Rocky" Rodriguez; sister, Phyllis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Rodriguez and brother, Charles Gooch.
