Evelyn Spears, Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 She was 92 years old. Evelyn was born in Cullman, AL to her mother, Claire Hyatt.
Evelyn worked for Frito Lay for many years before moving to work for A1 Compressor as a factory worker. Evelyn retired from work in 1998 after over 23 years of service. Evelyn enjoyed playing cards, completing word searches, and solving crossword puzzles. Evelyn was always a fan of family gatherings and holidays. She was a dedicated mother who always worked hard to provide for her children. Her strong willed nature and outspoken personality will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Donald (Betty) Spears, Debbie Spears, Brenda Scott, Tina Marie (Jeff) Pettijohn; her daughter-in-law, Joann Spears; her 15 grandchildren; her 45 great grandchildren; her 27 great great grandchildren; her siblings, John Fleming and Helen Mattern.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; her children, David Wayne Spears, Bobby Lee Spears Sr., Danny Lee Spears; her son-in-law, William Charles Scott; her grandson, Steven Grubb; her grandson-in-law, Chris Taylor Sr.
A visitation for Evelyn will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 2:00 pm.
