Flora Jean Gossett passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2011. Flo was born in Indianapolis to Carl and Bessie Knotts on February 7, 1933. She graduated from Ben Davis H.S. in 1951 and then married her high school sweetheart, Edward M. Gossett, on December 1, 1951. With Flo''s unending support, Ed founded ERMCO (Electrical and Communications Contractors) in 1963. The Gossett family and their great employees have been instrumental in growing the company into one of the largest electrical contractors in the U.S. Flo has always been integral to the business, remaining an active employee until her passing. In addition to her work at the company, she enjoyed travelling with Ed until his death in 1996. They were particularly fond of their trips with friends to Las Vegas and touring all over the country in their RV. Flo was an avid Indiana Pacers fan, rarely missing a game over the last 25 years and recently became a fan of the Indiana Fever, attending many of their games as well. She enjoyed playing euchre and also was a league bowler for many years. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will all miss her very much. Flo was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church. Flo is survived by her children Darrell (Thecla); Brenda (Dan) Roberts; Greg (Danna); Barbara (Steve) Seacat; and Russ Gossett. In addition to her parents, siblings and her husband, Ed, she was also preceded in death by their son, Michael Gossett. She has 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Thursday, from 3-8 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135 Greenwood. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday, at 11:00 AM.
