Floyd "Archie" Archibald, age 83, of Indianapolis, passed away October 5, 2010. He was born March 13, 1927, in Indianapolis to Floyd and Ida Mae (Becker) Archibald. He was a W.W.II U.S. Navy veteran, who served on the USS Cabildo, and a truck driver for Pony Express and Crossroads Auto Dealership for most of his life. Archie was a member of Prospect Lodge # 714 F&AM, the Loyal Order of the Moose and a member of IATSE Local 836, and a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. He married Jearuldene Nicely and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Terry (Lorraine) Archibald, and Charles (Deborah) Joerendt; three daughters, Brenda (Jim) Barr, Alice (John) Zelahay, and Shirley M. Andrews; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 9, at 10:30 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation is Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions to Immanuel United Church of Christ Building Fund or the American Lung Assoc.
