Frances Mae Smith, 97, of Greenwood, passed away September 2, 2013. The daughter of Howard and Fay Williams Beals, Frances was born January 26, 1916 in Vienna, Illinois.

Frances was a member of Southport United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star and The Pythian Sisters.

Frances is survived by son, Donald W. (Retta Sue) Smith of Indianapolis; daughter, Linda M. Smith of Greenwood; grandchildren, Donovan Smith and Patti Witt; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Brandi Jefferson and Josh Witt. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle W. Smith, whom she married on May 22, 1942 in Stoddard, Missouri and brother, William E. Beals.

Services 12:00 noon September 6, 2013 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
