Frances E. Schick Skinner, 89, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012. Frances was born on August 27, 1922 in Lawrenceville, IL to the late John Clem and Sally Claire (Hovermale) Tustin. Frances, being of the deaf community, was very proud to have been streamlined into Lincoln High School''s curriculum. She also graduated from Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis. She married her love Eugene F. Schick in 1946 and was married to him until his passing in 1989. She then married Roger A. Skinner, whom survives.
Frances was very proud to have been the IL State Champion for the Woman''s Division of Sewing at the age of 15. She also enjoyed needle crafting. Frances was very active in the deaf community. She played Euchre for over 50 years with the same club. Frances was also a St. Louis Cardinals fan from a young age.
Frances is survived by her loving children: Roberta Durham (Dennis); Fred Schick, Jr. (Marty); Brenda S. Schick (Simon); and Sharon L. Lewis; 9 grandchildren: Robyn Ben-Abdallah; Robert Durham; Jennifer Pauley; Ryan Schick; Sarah Schick; Kristen Schick-Meyer; Adam Schick; Morgan Lewis; and Derek Lewis; and 5 great-grandchildren: Zachary Ben-Abdallah; Jasmine Ben-Abdallah; Dylan Pauley; Addam Ben-Abdallah; and Alison Durham.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene F. Schick; son James A. Schick; and brother Paul R. Tustin.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens following the service.
