Mr. Francis Alvin Reynolds, Mooresville, passed away on the morning of Friday, November 6, 2020. He was 88. Mr. Reynolds was born June 17, 1932 in Lafayette, Indiana, one of 10 children born to Leon Curtis and Edna Charlotte (Fairchild) Reynolds.
Francis was a proud veteran having served his country in the United States Army. He was a professional truck driver and worked for several companies over the years and retired from Consolidated Freight in June 1991 after seven years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Francis was a craftsman and got much pleasure from woodworking, spending countless hours creating works of art in wood. He also enjoyed reading, target shooting, reloading ammunition and being outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and visiting places of historical significance. Francis also enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and loved them all. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids, and particularly enjoyed family gatherings. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Morgan Street Church of Christ in Martinsville.
Francis is survived by his children, Rebecca Jacobs, Eric Reynolds, Curtis (Becky) Reynolds, Tina Nixon; his grandchildren, James Jacobs III, Devon (Tanner) McCarty, Lucas (Harley) Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds, Caleb Reynolds, Jessica (Randy) Scott and Emilie Reynolds; his great-grandchildren, Kambree Reynolds, Jamison Reynolds and Jacelyn Scott; five sisters as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife of 62 years, Gertrude Ann Reynolds; his son-in-law, Jim Jacobs; his daughter-in-law, Michele Reynolds; one brother and three sisters.
Francis will be inurned beside his wife at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
