Indianapolis:
Francis William Simon, 82, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011. He was born on May 26, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late J. Fred and Ethel I. (Haugh) Simon. Francis was a U.S. Army veteran.
Francis was a Master Printer for Benham Press in Indianapolis for over 37 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, and tinkered with vehicles. He was a wonderful Christian man and was a member of The Apostolic Gospel Church in Franklin.
Francis is survived by his loving wife Dollie of 31 years; his children: Ronald W. Simon (Norma); Dirinda S. Asher (Richard); Charity Eck (Harry); and Patrick R. Simon; 2 step-children: Vicki Hermsdorfer and Michael Walls; brother Robert Simon (Jean); 3 sisters: Marilyn Nicoloff (Roy); Loretta Meador; and Linda Schumaker (Robert); 8 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; sister Audrey Page; and brother Carl Simon.
Forest Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family during their loss. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend John Stephenson officiating.
