Francis L. West, 84, of Greenwood, died March 10, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by family. Born July 28, 1931 in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late Fred and Frances (Mathias) West.

He was a 1949 graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and attended Mt. Pleasant Christian Church for many years. He was a former member of Toastmasters International; he enjoyed reading, and going to Christi''s Auction in Southport.

He married Betty W. (Morton) in January of 1954. He is survived by a son, Joe (Julie) West; a daughter, Cynthia (Bill) Caywood; two sisters, Margie Morris and Theresa Cartwright; twelve grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, a son, Gary West, two brothers, Morris and Dick West, and a sister, Wilma Shoemaker.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016, in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South S.R. # 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
