Gary Van Swearingen, 69, of Spencer, passed away March 12, 2016. The son of Warren V. Swearingen and Virginia Willis Lyon, Gary was born January 25, 1947 in East Liverpool, Ohio.

A master electrician with Local 481, Gary retired in 2008 after 38 years of service. He was a member of F&AM #95, Spencer.

Gary is survived by his wife, Linda C. Swearingen of Spencer; sons, Ryan V. and Chad V. (Betsy) Swearingen, stepson, Brandon T. (Sue) Pritchett, all of Indianapolis; brothers, Ronnie Lyon of St. Louis, MO and Larry (Mable) Swearingen of Georgetown, PA; sister, Karen Boehm of PA and stepsister, Carolyn (Norm) Strader of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Alexis, Anna, Olivia, Jillian, Natalie and Cassie Swearingen, Dillon, Courtney and Tabatha Pritchett; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Jayden and Tristen Pritchett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Andy Pritchett.

Memorial services 12 noon, Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 S State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Inurnment at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
