Weaver Eugene "Gene" Russell, 89, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully Thursday, July 29.  He was born June 20, 1932 in Indianapolis to the late Weaver Dunn and Jennie Russell.

Gene graduated from high school and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy.  When he came home he met the love of his life, Jacqueline "Jackie" Pressnell and they married September 7, 1962 and would have celebrated 59 years of marriage this year.  Gene enjoyed fishing and hunting, and could very often be found in local billiard tournaments, both here in Indianapolis and in Florida.  Above all, he loved his family and was completely devoted to caring for them.  Gene will be greatly missed by many family and friends.

Gene will be forever remembered by his wife, Jackie; children Bob (Linda) Fox, and Jackie (Mel) Lester; sister, Joann Shea; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by children, James L. Thomas, David M. Fox, and Barbara J. Russell.

There will be a graveside service with military honors at 1:00pm on Monday, August 2 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana  46143.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.
