Mrs. Geneva Napier, Indianapolis,
went home to be with the
Lord on the evening of Wednesday, May 25, 2022. She was
85. Geneva was born February 20,
1937 in Fields, Kentucky,
the oldest child of the late Elzie and Pearl (Spurlock) Keen.
Geneva attended school in Kentucky and came to Indiana with
her husband in the mid 1950's. As the oldest child of her
family, she helped raise her younger brothers and sisters.
She was a devoted homemaker and always saw that the needs
of her family were met. She was an excellent cook and was well
known for her chicken and dumplings and peanut butter fudge.
Geneva enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She
deeply loved her family,
especially her grandchildren and she looked forward to all
family
gatherings and vacations. Geneva
was very proud of her Southern
faith, heritage and values. She was a member of the House of
Prayer Tabernacle in Indianapolis
for 60 years where she had
served as a Sunday School teacher.
Geneva is survived by her daughters, Diane
(Brad) Baker, Debbie
(Melvin) Hensley and Kathy (Wayne) Justice; her grandchildren,
Lisa (David) Stevens, Joseph Baker, Daniel Hensley, Crystal
Hensley, Travis (Kaitlyn) Justice and Amanda (Justin) Dobbs;
her great-grandchildren, Adriana, Caleb, Sage, Kaden and
Raelynn; her sister, Dorothy (David) Cook and several nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her
beloved husband of 64 years, Eugene Napier and her siblings,
Frank, Juanita, Beulah, Bobby, Pauline, Geraldine and Harold.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Thursday,
June 2, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with
Pastor Brad Baker officiating. She will be laid to rest beside
her husband following the services at Forest
Lawn Memory
Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until
the hour of service at the funeral home.
