George Brown Jr., 89, of Greenwood passed away March 13, 2013 at Greenwood Health and Living. He was born August 19, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, IN to the late George and Ester (Hook) Brown. George was a graduate of Pimento, IN High School Class of 1941 and received his Bachelors degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He married
Delores "Dee" Dains on September 3, 1950 in St. Louis, MO. George was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force WWII. He was employed as an employee trainer for Farm Bureau Insurance for thirty years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. He was an avid sports fan with bowling and golf being his favorites. He also enjoyed square dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Delores (Dee) Brown; sons, Dr. Stephen (Jo Laine) Brown, David (Lisa) Brown; daughters, Carol (Mark) Gibson, Shari (Rex) Bowden; brothers, Donald and Harry Brown; sisters, Betty Gordon and Anabelle Coss; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death byhis parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood with entombment to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Building Fund.
