Gerald D. Brooks, 86, of Indianapolis passed away September 8, 2017. He was born in Madison, IN on December 20, 1930 to Stacey and Nettie Brooks.

Gerald or "Brooks" as he was known worked as an estimator in the construction field. He was a member of the Masons, the Elks and Moose. He married Dolores "Dee" Brooks, and they shared 36 loving years together.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Lucille (Michael Moody - surviving); brother, Lloyd Brooks and sister, Marge Johnson.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Dolores "Dee" Brooks; children, Abbie Lynn (Aloys) Verheggen, Lee Brian (Barbara) Brooks, and Ruth Ellen (Sarah) Baehr; step children, Lynn Marie Russell, Tim Russell, Phil Russell, Brian Russell; grandchildren, Matthew, Guin, Emily, Same, Ryn and Michael; step grandchildren, Sarah Lynn Edmondson and Heather Marie Russell; great grandchildren, Lillian and Isabelle, Rose and George; step great grandchild, Riley Elizebeth Griffin and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 3:00 pm with visitation from 2:00 pm until the service time in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood.
