Gerald Phillip Hochgesang, Sr., age 68, of Canyon Lake, TX, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away June 13, 2010. He was born March 6, 1942, in Washington, IN to Virgil C. and Rosa M. (Williams)Hochgesang. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and worked 20 + yrs. as an R. F. Engineer for the Indianapolis Police Dept. He also worked for and retired from Cingular. He married Betsy M. Stewart and she survives along with three sons; Gerald P. Hochgesang, Jr.,of Virginia Beach, VA, Gregory A. of Shreveport, LA, and James R.(Cathy) Hochgesang, of Indianapolis; one daughter, Deborah Evans, of Greenwood; one brother, Michael (Cindy) Hochgesang, of Avon; one sister, Beverly S.(Dale)Belcher, of Washington, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Virgil C. Hochgesang, Jr., in infancy, and Larry N. Hochgesang. Funeral services will be Monday, June 21 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, IN with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, June 20 at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.
