Obituary

Mr. Gerald Lee Wilde, New Whiteland, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, August 2, 2021 at IU Health Methodist Hospital after a sudden illness. He was 73. Gerald was born August 11, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Opal Roy and Mary Catherine (Lovelace) Wilde.

Gerald was a 1966 graduate of Emmerick Manual High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He had been employed with Vertellus Tar and Chemical Company in the industrial maintenance department and retired in 2009 after 24 years of service. He was a member of Lynhurst Lodge No. 723, F&AM and was a former member of the VFW. Gerald was a fix it man and was an old car enthusiast and enjoyed rebuilding cars and attending car shows around the area. He also enjoyed watching old western movies on television as well as vacationing in cabins in the Smoky Mountains of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Gerald loved spending time with his family and especially with his brothers. Gerald was an avid supporter of President Trump.

Gerald is survived by his children, April Wilde and Jerry (Amber) Wilde; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters as well as a son-in-law, Jack Bridges.

In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in passing by his wife, Linda C. (Rosetto) Wilde; a son, Kevin Wilde and a daughter, Michelle Bridges.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Friday, August 6, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the funeral home.

Lynhurst Lodge No. 723 will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.
