Geraldine Kay Sawyer McClain, 76, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012. The daughter of Jess and Thelma Harriman Sawyer, Geraldine was born May 22, 1936 in Brazil, Indiana.
A homemaker, Geraldine was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. She loved her pet dogs.
Pastor Ken Snyder will officiate at a funeral service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 3:30 p.m. to service time. Private family entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
Geraldine is survived by son, James A. (Lorie) McClain, Jr. of Martinsville; daughter, Cindy K. (Brad) Miller of Greenwood; sisters, Bonnie (David) Bennett and Pam Sawyer, both of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Mandy, Katy and Clayton McClain of Martinsville and Cory and Ally Miller of Greenwood. Besides her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, James A. McClain, Sr., whom she married in Indianapolis on October 15, 1955.
