Gloria Nordmeyer, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 24, 2026. Born on January 26, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Gloria was the treasured daughter of William Murray and Patricia Self.
Gloria's life was a testament to love and dedication. She shared 53 wonderful years with her devoted husband, James “Jim” Nordmeyer. Together, they built a loving family, blessed with two sons, Troy and Aaron Nordmeyer. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support shaped the lives of her children and family.
A proud alumna of Franklin Central High School, Gloria embarked on a remarkable career with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Her journey spanned 47 years, during which she rose to the impressive position of Sales Director. Leading a team of talented women, Gloria became an inspiration, sharing her knowledge and passion at Mary Kay conferences. Her dedication and leadership left an indelible mark on countless lives.
Gloria's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found solace and community at Nativity Catholic Church, where she actively participated in Bible study groups. Gloria displayed her ministry through volunteering with the St. Vincent De Paul Society, serving those in need within her community.
A woman of many interests, Gloria embraced life with enthusiasm. Her affinity for the color pink was as vibrant as her spirit. She cherished traveling with her family, creating lasting memories in places like Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Wyoming, Arizona and Utah. Whether exploring new destinations or enjoying life at home, Gloria found joy in reading and peaceful walks. Her love for dogs was well known. She never missed the Westminster Dog Show, ensuring she caught every moment.
Gloria's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her husband, Jim Nordmeyer; sons, Troy and Aaron Normeyer; sister, Joyce Weston, and brother, Richard (Judy) Self. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law, Dennis Weston. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
A visitation for Gloria will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 1PM to 5 PM. The funeral service will be on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:30 AM, held at Nativity Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN. A private family burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
