Obituary

Gordon Davidson, Jr., age 84 of Greenwood, died Wednesday, February 18th at University Heights Health & Living Community in Indianapolis. He was born in July 18, 1924 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Gordon W. and Shelly (Johnson) Davidson. On January 13, 1946, he married Margaret Lynch. Gordon retired from Ford Motor Company in 1988 after 25 years as a repairman. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. participating at Guadalcanal, B.S.I, Cape Gloucester, New Britain, Peleliu, Palau Islands. He was wounded in Peleliu on September 15, 1944 and received a purple heart. He is survived two sons: Robert M. (Barbara) Davidson and Terry (Terri) Davidson, Sr.; Three Step-brothers: Jack, Bill and Mike Bannon; four grandchildren: Kely (Greg) Reasner, Kyle (Kristin) Davidson, Terry Davidson, Jr. and Kayla Margaret Davidson; One great-granddaughter, Mary Reasner. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother Robert E. Davidson. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday February 20, 2009 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Pastor Greg Ponchot, will conduct services at 1:30 on Saturday February 21st at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made the American Diabetes Foundation.
