Mrs. Grace V. York of Indianapolis passed away on the early afternoon of September 24, 2020. She was 100. Grace was born April 18, 1920 in Cumberland County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Dewey and Annie Abney.

Grace was full of life! In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing euchre and bowling. In her younger years, she was active in 4 to 5 weekly bowling leagues. She loved to cook and entertain at her home as well as traveling and singing. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and was known to take and many stray cats over her lifetime. She had an awesome appetite and loved to eat...all the while maintaining her 100 pound frame. She was a member of the Moose Lodge of Beech Grove.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Jeanette York as well as several nieces, nephews and many good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband Fred York; her brothers Pete Abney and Daniel Logan; her sisters Kathleen Huddleston, Geneva Parker, Bessie Dart and Maxine Long as well as her nephew Danny Abner.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, Indiana. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn at Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 1:00pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
