Gregory Michael Coffing passed away on the early morning of December 12, 2023.  He was 69 years old and was surrounded by family until the end.  Greg was born at Fort Monmouth inMonmouth County, New Jersey to his parents Gordon and Randy Coffing, and he was the oldest of seven.
Throughout his lifetime, Greg grew up in a military family and lived in many places as a result.  He could tell a story from just about every corner of the globe.
Greg was a hard worker in his adult years and was never a stranger to working long days.
Greg was known by many other names over his years, such as dad, pop, Grandpa Greg, and Poppi to name a few.  But most if not all of his friends knew him as Coco.  All that had the pleasure of knowing Coco never felt anything but love and warmth in his presence.  He was the life of the luau and the last one to leave it.  There was never a smile he couldn't 'out-big', or a hug he couldn't 'out-give'.  His long hair and infectious laugh lit up the room and he made everyone he met feel welcome.
Ohana, the Hawaiian term for family, was Greg's way of life.  He always preached the strength of family, as those bonds are unbreakable and live on forever.  It is not the tree branches that make the tree strong, for it is the roots that hold it firm and keep it grounded.  As those roots are watered with love, the familytree gains strength and grows for eternity.
Greg loved all of his children and grandchildren.  His many hobbies included cooking, sports, listening to and singing music, motorcycle rides, golf trips, and also socializing with family and friends.
Greg was showered with love and support from family and close friends in his final days, with the love of his life and wife of 10 years by his side the entire way.
Greg is survived by his wife Benny; his mother Randy Coffing; his children Matthew (Shannon) Coffing, Sara (Dereck) Webb, Kristen (Matthew) McCarrick, Nick (Kelsey); his step children Barbie (AJ) Brown, Roscoe (Theresa) Baxter; his grandchildren Kaylee, Madison, Conner, Cameron, Tyler, Jack, Noah,  Sophia, Leila, Daisha, Alexis, Brooke, Bailey, JoJo; his siblings Dale, Steve, Mark, Jim, Claire, and Chris.
Greg is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Coffing.
