Guadalupe R. Vela

Age 84 of Indianapolis passed away at home on April 18, 2018 surrounded by daughter Julia, Son Willie and granddaughter Jamie. She was born and raised in Texas and later in life moved to Indianapolis, IN.

Guadalupe worked as a housekeeper at Wishard Memorial Hospital and Farm Bureau Co-Op and then later retired. Guadalupe gave so much of herself to all those she encountered, always willing to help those in need. She will be remembered as the best mother in the world, great grandmother, homemaker, chef, counselor, prayer warrior, one amazing seamstress, and hard working woman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernardo and Tomasa Rios, three brothers, three sisters, son Bernardo, and daughters Leonor V. Martinez and Patricia R. Craney.

She is survived by her sons Juan Lopez, Rosario Vela Sr. and Willie Vela (wife Katia), Daughter Julia Davis, son-in-law Charles M. Craney, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grand-child; sister, Josefina Rivera (TX) and Josephine H. Cristan (TX), that was raised like a sister not long after birth.
