Gunther August Voigt, 95, of Indianapolis passed away July 13, 2016. He was born May 12, 1921 in Bremen, Germany to August C. and Frances (Demski) Voigt.

Gunther was a member of the Central Indiana Soaring Society and the Masons at Centre lodge #23. He enjoyed flying, traveling, white water rafting, scuba diving, sailing and ballroom dancing, in which he recently won several contests. Gunther also was an inventor, he flew model airplanes and was a ham radio operator.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Estelle Voigt and his parents.

Gunther is survived by his son, Mark A. (Sheila) Voigt; daughter, Christine Jane (Rosemary Galdiano) Voigt and 5 grandchildren, Eric, Joseph and Evan Voigt and Logan and Emily Harper.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16 from 10 am - 12 pm with a funeral service at 12 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
