Guy Brian
Schnepp
Jul 24, 1960 — Jan 7, 2019
Indianapolis
Guy B. Schnepp, 58, of Indianapolis passed away January 7, 2019. He was born July 24, 1960 in Indianapolis, IN to Harley Robert and Mary Joan (Hartley) Schnepp.
Guy was one of the hardest working, manly men you will ever meet. There was nothing he couldn't fix or figure out how to fix to save the cost of calling a repair person. Being a thrifty man, he enjoyed letting his family go to the Lake Cumberland in Kentucky on vacation, strictly for the purpose of not missing work and someone had to take care of the animals. Being an avid fisherman, fishing was one of Guy's passions on top of his family and spending time with his beloved granddaughter, Alyssa Rose his "lepchen #2". He was a history buff and enjoyed visiting museums and watching anything about war stuff. His loving wife, Kelley, can recall stopping numerous times on the way to the lake in Kentucky to tour a particular museum, even though they've visited many times before. In an earlier period of his life, Guy enjoyed skiing at the lake and going fishing with his kids, siblings, nieces and nephews. And who can forget the Presidential Physical Fitness Award he received in high school that he was so proud of and continuously repeated even in his retired days. Guy enjoyed being in nature, riding his tractor, gardening, and cooking. His children recall their father as being a supportive father, as well as a great teacher and lecturer. He always had something to teach and advice to give, and would be honest no matter if it would hurt your feelings or not. Very practical. Guy could talk to anyone and everyone and would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. It was said that Guy would feed the world if he could, and was always preaching "Eat your food!" and if you ever came by the house there was always food to be served. If someone could describe a great neighbor Guy would be it, as he would look out for his neighbors and let them know just exactly what was going on at their house. Being the genuine, good person that he is, Guy still remained friends with LOTS of old acquaintances he grew up with. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Robert and Mary Joan (Hartley) Schnepp.
Guy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kelley Schnepp; son, Kyle Schnepp; daughter, Kendall (Chris Osborne) Schnepp; brother, Matt Schnepp; sisters, P.J. Schnepp-Pfister, Linda (Hugh) Teal and Kathi Piergies; his beloved granddaughter, Alyssa Rose Osborne and his 669 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm with a funeral service at 2:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
