Gwen Mitchell, 31, of New Whiteland left this world on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. She was employed at Oaken Barrel in Greenwood and was a student at Paul Mitchell Beauty School. Gwen was an amazing cook and took great pride in everything she set out to accomplish. She mostly enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Brandon Mitchell; and two grandfathers, Thomas Dawson, and Herman Mitchell. Survivors include her son, Braiden Mitchell Shipp; parents, Deborah Dawson and Mark Gilpin and Chris and Terri Mitchell; two brothers, Ian Cress, and Austin Mitchell; two grandmothers, Donna Dawson and Shirley Mitchell; a life long friend, Kyle Shipp; and many friends. Gwen will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Family and friends will gather in Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. with a service immediately following also in the funeral home.
